All members and day ticket holders and visitors have the following responsibilities.
- Fishing is fly fishing only. All members and day ticket visitors will prior to starting any angling or walking at the location be aware of the following risks at this location concerning their personal safety with regard to wearing or having suitable clothing & equipment they are intending to use, {which should include a hat and eye protection (spectacles, sunglasses etc)}, weather conditions prevalent at the start and during their visit, the condition of the banking, water and any areas where there is water drawdown occurring e.g. water towers, pipes etc. Boats and retrieving equipment if damaged are not to be used and a report made to the secretary immediately. Walking surfaces and terrain are difficult and marshes prevalent throughout. Wading and entering the water at this location is not advisable. A person failing to take such notice of risks or using boats in adverse weather conditions or damaged equipment does so at their own risk and may invalidate any insurance claim. And the tenants and the landlords will not be responsible for any claim made.
- Any damage found to boats, boathouses or equipment at the time of a visit must be reported to the secretary of the association immediately. Any damage caused either by accident or deliberately is to be reported to the secretary without delay. Honesty will be tolerated. Otherwise disciplinary or legal action may be necessary. Failure to report is putting other persons at risk of injury or worse.
- All premises to be locked securely and all gates to be locked on entry and exit.
- Combination locks should be set to a random number after use so the code cannot be seen by passers by.
- Boats must be fully and properly secured before and after taking boats out.
- All boats must be bailed whether fishing from the boats or bank.
- No anchors are allowed.
- No parking at or near waterboard buildings. Unless authorised in writing.
- All members are issued with a members parking permit. Parking permits must be clearly displayed and visible in the front windscreen as per our lease agreement when on Scottish Water Premises. Regular offenders may be refused membership.
- Oars, punts & bailers all to be returned to the boathouse and not left in boats. All boats to be secured to one rope ring only to prevent damage.
- All rubbish left by members and visitors is to be removed by them and not left at the location or within the boathouses
- Life vests to be worn when either boat, approved wading (stocking or bio-diversity surveys only and accompanied by an adequate risk assessment) and/or bank fishing. The purchase or possession of life vests shall be the responsibility of members or visitors attending the location and not the responsibility of the tenants or their landlords. A person fishing or walking without a life vest does so at their own risk and may invalidate any insurance claim.
- The committee recommends that for their safety persons do not wade. Any person wading does so at their risk and contrary to the advice of the committee.
- Oars not to be used as punts or for bank push off.
- All persons aged less than 16 years must be accompanied by an adult
- No smoking is allowed in boathouses.
- No dogs are allowed at the location.
- Electric outboard engines only are permitted for use on association waters minimum 24lbs thrust maximum 80lbs thrust at time of use oars must also be carried onboard the boat at all times in the event of adverse weather conditions or engine failure.
- The tenants and their landlords will not be responsible for any theft, loss or damage suffered at this location.
- All members and visitors with appropriate authorisation to fish, to be aware of the number of fish allowed each visit and size permitted. {at present 2 fish not less than 11 inches}.
- All visits must be recorded in the catch returns book before starting fishing. Catch returns must be entered, including nil returns. There is a returns book in each club hut, or use the online form in fishing reports.
- Remember to notify your next of kin where you are and give them a time you will return home or telephone them when you leave the location.
- Always carry first aid equipment with you and any medication you may require (e.g. asthma inhaler etc). Also always carry a mobile telephone it may one day save your life. Emergency contacts should always be made via the police non-emergency number (poachers, pollution etc) 101. In an emergency 999 and ask for the service required.
- The brown trout fishing season is from 15th March to 6th October inclusive. No fishing is allowed during the closed season.
